Every year, around back-to-school time, I wonder how Staples is still in business. The pandemic gave them a brief boost as WFH took over. But the long-term trend is undeniable — both consumer and businesses prefer to buy online, and that means mostly on Amazon.
But for this short period of time, I am grateful that Staples is still in business. While many parents just order stuff on Amazon, there’s just something about going to the store with my two boys and having them (somewhat excitedly) browse the shelves for the needed supplies. I can’t think of any other retail experience they more-than-tolarate.
So I’ll see you again next year, Staples. I hope.
